November 2009

We escorted some prospective adopters and foster home providers to Ruby Ranch Horse Rescue for a visit on Saturday, November 14, 2009 just before the latest storm blew in.  Due to the economy, health issues, and other hardships in peoples's lives Ruby Ranch currently has taken in a number of horses lately that puts them over the amount that they have individual shelters or stalls for.  With winter arriving they are in need of loving foster homes for these horses.  If you are able to care for a horse through the winter, it is a rewarding experience and all expenses are Tax Deductible!!!  Visit their website for pictures and details about the great horses they have available.  They also welcome volunteers on Saturday mornings.  The visit was very enjoyable. Thank you to Pat and Roger for their hospitality and thank you to Pfaser for a nice ride!

ORPHAN FOALS ARRIVE
Two foals out of mares rescued during the Fremont County horse seizure case back in July arrive at Deseos Arabians.  Due to serious neglect one of the foals mother's (Chloe) died only a few days after giving birth leaving behind an orphan foal.  The second foal was weaned early due to her mother's health, her mother (Stella) was moved to a rehabiliation facility where she was recently euthanized due to her worsening condition.  More pictures and details about the foals, Trance Gemini and Stella's Liberator on our
